Meet Trish! She is a passionate lover of design who fell into the design world and hasn’t looked back! She has now been pursuing her passion for 19 years, exhibiting stunning work in Florida beach homes! Learn more about her below and check out some of her favorite design projects featuring UMI Stone!
Q: Tell us a little bit about your background. When did you decide you wanted to be a designer?
A: The idea of running my own company came after the birth of my last child. This may sound cliche but I was watching an episode of Oprah rocking him to sleep and the show topic was about turning your passion into your career. I looked down at his precious face and began thinking that in just five short years he would be off to school. I began to wonder what I was going to do. I asked myself what is your passion. At the time I had just moved into a new home. I loved picking out all the selections for my home and all the furnishings. I would frequently help friends in the neighborhood put their rooms together and I truly enjoyed it. So I began thinking “Could I possibly turn this into my career?” I could and I did! That was 19 years ago.
Q: What style do you like to design the most?
A: I designing for my client’s wants and needs. Living in Florida, the environment around me is so inspiring, so I would say, for me, I love designing a warm, casual beach elegance space.
Q: What project are you most proud of?
A: I put my heart into every project I design. I am proud of all of them. All the work that goes into designing a home is worth it when I hear my client say, “This is even more beautiful than I ever expected it to be.”
Q: What do you enjoy most about UMI?
A: I like the selection of the products you have and UMI is super easy to work with.
Q: What is your favorite product UMI carries? And favorite color of that product?
A: I just did a condo renovation and used your White Calacatta Sapienstone countertop in the kitchen. IT’S STUNNING!!!
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A: If I am not working, you will find me enjoying my free time on the water. I love going out on my boat and just relaxing. There is something so tranquil about being on the water.
Q: Tell us a little about the photos above. What UMI product is featured, style, etc.?
A: The pictures are of a renovation I did on my client’s beachfront condo. It was a complete renovation. I really opened the space by removing the wall that separated the kitchen and living area. We used the White Calacatta Sapienstone in the kitchen which offered this amazing warm movement through the stone. I kept the master bath simple and used the Avorio quartz.
