Meet Ashley Kime! She manages all home building projects from a finish selections perspective. She works directly as a liaison between the builder, vendor and customer in order to make sure everything runs smoothly. From breaking ground to final walkthrough day, her goal is to make your home building experience as enjoyable as possible. Get to know more about Ashley below!
Q: Tell us a little about your background.
A: I have no formal training in interior design. I received my Bachelors degree in PR/Advertising from DePaul University in Chicago and then worked at a digital marketing agency promoting brands online for a few years. I quickly realized it wasn’t my calling and around the same time my family asked if had an interest in working for their Marco Island based construction company, AQUA Custom Homes. Fast forward 5 years later, I now manage all of our projects from a finish selections perspective. I guide customers through the home building process from start to finish and act as a liaison between the builder, vendor and customer. I absolutely love the creative process of sourcing materials and then seeing it come to life on a large scale.
Q: What is your personal style?
A: My personal style is always evolving, but I’m currently drawn towards all things coastal modern with organic influences.
Q: What do you think is the next big trend?
A: Health-focused home features are on trend. From steam showers, and VOC free paint, to recycled tile, and water filtration systems. It’s all about creating a healthy, safe and beautiful environment for you and your family.
Q: What is your favorite project you have worked on?
A: A large-scale custom home project I’m working on right now in the estates of Marco. We’re incorporating so many killer design elements from tile rug patterns to walnut ceiling details it’s exciting to see it come to life.
Q: What is your favorite product UMI carries?
A: I love your precioustone countertops that you can back light. What a showstopper!
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: I love being out on the water; it is my happy place.
